NATURE IS CAPITAL
Our natural world doesn’t just hold resources, it transforms them into living assets and services– what we call “natural capital.” Nutrient cycling, soil fertility, watershed health, etc.– these sophisticated innate systems clearly add value to humanity, cleaning our air and water and producing our food.
When ecosystems lose natural capital, producers pay to replace what nature once provided free of charge– often with inferior synthetic substitutes.
Regenerative agriculture deploys natural capital. These practices repair damage done, increase current productivity, and build long-term resilience– amplifying advantages readily available in the environment itself.
